Will this irritate my skin the way retinol does?

It's designed not to. The active ingredient reaches the same receptors as retinol but engages them without forcing the pace of cell turnover, which is what causes the peeling and redness with retinol. That said, everyone's skin is different — we recommend a patch test before your first full application, especially if you have very reactive or compromised skin.

How long until I see results?

Most people notice their skin feeling calmer and more hydrated within the first 1–2 weeks. Texture typically starts to smooth around weeks 4–6, and visible softening of fine lines and tone by weeks 8–12. Skin renewal takes time — with or without retinol — so give it the full 8–12 weeks before judging results.

Can I use it with other active ingredients, like vitamin C or exfoliating acids?

We haven't tested specific combinations, so we can't make claims either way. As a general rule, introduce one active ingredient at a time and watch how your skin responds before layering others — this applies to any new active, not just ours.

Can I use it during the day?

Yes. Unlike retinol, it doesn't require daytime avoidance. As always, wear SPF during the day regardless of what's underneath it.

Is it safe to use during pregnancy or breastfeeding?
